A backup nobody has restored is a plan, not a capability.

DrillProof exists because the industry measures the wrong thing — whether the backup job succeeded, rather than whether the restore does.

Why this product

Every infrastructure team has a backup solution, and almost every one of them has a restore path that has never been exercised end-to-end. The tooling is partly to blame: backup products report on jobs, because jobs are cheap to measure. Recovery is expensive to measure, so nobody measures it — and the first real test happens during an incident, with an audience.

We think that is backwards, and that the fix is unglamorous: actually perform the restore, on a schedule, in an environment where failing is free. Then keep the receipt.

How we build

  • Your cloud, not ours. Bring-your-own-cloud was the first architectural decision, not a later enterprise concession. It means a DrillProof outage cannot strand your data and a DrillProof breach cannot reach it.
  • Evidence over assurance. Anything we claim about recoverability should be backed by a dated record of a restore that happened. If we cannot show it, we should not say it.
  • Narrow and finished. EKS, EBS, and RDS on AWS, done properly, ahead of a matrix of half-supported services.

Where we are

Early. We are working with a small number of design partners through free Restore-Assurance Audits — running the real procedure against real environments, and letting what we find shape the product. If your restores have never been tested and you would rather learn that on a Tuesday than during an incident, that is exactly the conversation we want.

Draft·Founder story, team, and company background still to be written. Replace this section with real bios and history before launch — nothing here should invent a team, funding, or track record.
